I want to make my own action figure. Where do I start?

I’m not sure what you mean by an “action” figure but lots of people make figures from polymer clay (which is a plastic, and must be hardened in a home oven unlike air-dry clays), and those figures can vary widely from very simple to highly realistic, large to miniature, even bendable, etc.
