Kite Flying

The boy was not a good scholar and was securing poor marks.

He was being scolded by the teachers and parents.

He was tolerating everybody’s torture and comments.

Deep inside his subconscious mind there was a desire for success.

The boy was unable to understand the problems of physics,chemistry,mathematics and biology.

Some negetive remarks were deeply embedded in his mind.

He was thinking that life was a failure for him.

However he had learnt from her mother that God always helps all.

Though he had a strong belief in God,but he lacked faith in self.

He was an ardent belover of God.

He had the notion that God resides somewhere high up in the heaven.

That helped him to look high though he was ignorant that God resides within.

The final examination’s result irritated the parents.

The boy had failed in the examination.

The mother scolded the boy and beat him for the first time.

He spent a sleepless night and in the morning left home.

He was very fond of flying kite which he had left.

He bought a kite and requisites and went to the river bed.

There with rapt attention he engaged himself in kite flying.

He enjoyed the movement of kite and took the pleasure of controlling the kite as per his will.

According to his will he was able to fly the kite.

Some times high and some times low,the kite was in a beautiful flow.

He was fully merged with the kite.

He imagined himself to be a kite.

The mother traced the boy with much difficulty.

She was intelligent and gave the boy  number of kisses.

Tears rolled down through the cheeks from her eyes and the boy cried too.

The boy returned home and father also solaced him.

In the night the boy dreamt the kite.

He also dreamt that all his books were flying high up in the sky.

The letters,figures and all the formulae of the books were visible on the open sky.

He was astonished that he was understanding all the subjects and was reapeating them time and again.

When the sun came and the birds sang, the dream was over.

But one pecuilliar thing was observed by parents.

The boy was totally engaged in studies.

This made the parents silently cheerful.

The boy everyday flew kite standing on the river bed.

He envisioned himself to be a master of physics,chemistry,mathematics and biology.

He envisioned all the concepts,chemical formulae,problems and biological subjects in the open sky.

Slowly a greater degree of confidence was entering into each cell of his body.

With that confidence the boy was reading more vigorously.

He never looked back and saw a bright future for him.

The desire for success in his subconscious mind came to fructification.

His insatiable hunger to stand first in the class was glowing like anything.

All the teachers became happy,though some friends became jealous.

The boy did not care neither praise nor blame.

He went on and in the final examination held before entry to the college he stood first in the state.

This made all astonished and the parents were overwhelmed with joy.

A person flying a kite holds the string 5 ft above ground level and the string is payed out at a rate of 2ft/s

2ft/sec as the kite moves horizontally at an altitude of 105 ft . Assuming there is no sag in the string, find the rate at which the kite is moving when 125 ft of string has been payed out

You have a right-triangle, one side=(105-5)=100
Therefore H^2=S(1)^2+S(2)^2
You are asked to find the rate at which the kite is moving. I will re-phrase that to”how fast is the length of the Side changing”.
dS(1)/dt=dH/dt X dS(1)/dH
dH/dt=2 ft/sec
From H^2=S(1)^2+S(2)^2
H^2=S(1)^2+100^2
Differentiate implicitly to get 2HdH=2S(1)dS
dS/dH=2H/2S(1), or H/S(1)
Therefore dS(1)/dt=dH/dt X ds(1)/dH
At H =125 ft.,
S(1)^2=125^2-100^2, =15625-10000,=5625
So, S(1)=square root (5625, =75
And,
dS(1)dt=2 X H/S
=2(125/75)
=2(5/3)
=10/3 ft./sec.
